Real Oviedo starts preseason

Real Oviedo returns to work this Monday, July 6, with the start of their preseason for the 2026/2027 season. The blue players underwent medical tests over the weekend and Julín Calero and his technical staff got to know the squad that will wear the boots in a few hours.

There are 27 players called up, including the five signings made so far: Aisar Ahmed, Samu Rodríguez, Youness, Pablo Senz, and Jacobo González.

Oier Luengo, Eze, Álex Cardero, and Paraschiv return from loan, and from the reserve team, Espinosa, Marco Esteban, Enzo Pérez, Guille Berzal, and Jaime Coballes join.

Real Oviedo aims to improve its position in La Liga, where it currently sits 20th with 29 points, 6 wins, 11 draws, and 21 losses in 38 games, and with a goal difference of -34, having scored 26 goals and conceded 60.

Real Oviedo is 65 points behind leaders Barcelona and needs to improve its performance to avoid relegation.

Monday's training will start in the gym and move to the field after 10:00 AM. The 27 players called up for preseason are: Goalkeepers: Aarón Escandell, Miguel Narvez, and Mate Sauri. Defenders: Nacho Vidal, Rahim, Costas, Dani Calvo, Oier Luengo, Aisar Ahmed, Samu Rodríguez, Espinosa, Marco Esteban, and Eze. Midfielders: Alberto Reina, Youness Lachhab, Luka Ilic, Álex Cardero, Dieguito Menéndez, Enzo Pérez, and Guille Berzal. Forwards: Ilyas Chaira, Pablo Senz, Jacobo González, Joaquín Delgado, Pablo Agudín, Jaime Coballes, and Paraschiv.
